What are the Saskatoon Destination Leadership Awards?
The Awards recognize individuals, teams, organizations, partnerships, and initiatives making meaningful contributions to Saskatoon's visitor economy.
Who presents the Awards?
The Saskatoon Destination Leadership Awards are presented by Discover Saskatoon and Saskatoon's Best Hotels.
How many awards will be presented?
Ten awards will be presented across four areas:
- Hospitality and Hotel Excellence Awards
- Core Sector Awards
- Ecosystem Awards
- Signature Award
Who can be nominated?
Eligibility varies by award category.
Nominees must be, or be employed by, a Discover Saskatoon member organization. There is no geographic requirement. Member organizations located outside Saskatoon are eligible.
Can I nominate myself or my organization?
Yes, you can. Please review the eligibility requirements for the selected category before submitting.
Can I nominate someone who is not a Discover Saskatoon member?
No. Membership is the eligibility boundary for these Awards. If you are unsure whether an organization is a member, contact Samantha Lee at awards@discoversaskatoon.com and we will confirm.
Can I submit more than one nomination?
Yes. A separate nomination form must be completed for each nominee and award category.
Can the same nominee be entered in more than one category?
Yes, provided the nominee meets the eligibility requirements for each category.
Each nomination should be written specifically for the selected award.
Is there a nomination fee?
No. There is no fee to submit a nomination.
Will nominees know who nominated them?
That is your choice. Nominators may choose to remain anonymous to the nominee, and you will be asked to indicate your preference on the nomination form. Your contact information is always provided to Discover Saskatoon so we can reach you if we have questions.
Can I edit a nomination after submitting it?
No. Nominations cannot be edited once submitted. Please prepare your responses in advance and review your submission carefully before sending it.
What period should the nomination cover?
The eligibility period is January 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026.
The Destination Builder Award may consider achievements and contributions over the nominee's full career.
What supporting materials can I include?
Supporting materials may include:
- Letters of support
- Testimonials
- Photographs
- Event results
- Reports
- Media coverage
- Links to relevant work
Please submit only materials that directly support the nomination.
How are finalists and recipients selected?
Eligible nominations are independently reviewed by a volunteer adjudication committee using a standardized scoring rubric.
Adjudicators then meet to confirm finalists and recipients.
How are conflicts of interest managed?
Adjudicators must disclose actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest and will not participate in assessing affected nominations.
When will finalists be announced?
Finalists will be announced in October 2026.
Will all categories have finalists?
The number of finalists may vary by category.
Discover Saskatoon and Saskatoon's Best Hotels reserve the right not to present an award if nominations do not meet the required standard.
Do finalists need to attend the event?
Finalists are strongly encouraged to attend the Awards on November 24, 2026.
Additional information will be provided directly to finalists.
Where will the Awards be held?
The event will take place at the Park Town Hotel in Saskatoon.
When will tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale in October 2026.
How much are tickets?
Individual tickets are $75 for Discover Saskatoon members and $100 for non-members. Table and group packages will be announced closer to the event.
